It was my pleasure getting to interview with Tony yesterday. He's a stand up guy and I'm excited to see how well he does this year in boxing.

Boxer Profile: 2008 Golden Gloves Regional Champion, Jeffrey Page of Andover
Jeff Page was my first interview. Great modest guy and it was enjoyable getting to know him. Coach Johnny Pappin spoke highly of his hand speed which I didn't expect because I thought his arm muscles would inhibit his movement. I was wrong. lol Great read.

Wichita fighters brought the heat to the Amateur Boxing Winter Blowout
This was my first report on a boxing event. Jeff A Page put on a great show and had the opportunity to meet many members of the boxing community. I was able to record some fight videos and had them posted on my YouTube Channel.

Israel and Jacob Villa were my second interview as the Wichita Boxing Examiner. I have the conversation recorded and filed. I'm going to save every interview, photos, videos and articles I write as a memorabilia. It'll always be accessible with the proper consent.
Back to the Villas, they are truly passionate about boxing and for their boxers. I wanted to convey their genuine love for the sport in this article along with the background and challenges of the gym. Meeting them will have you question your love for the sport because what they do is above and beyond of just a hobby. It's a passion for these guys. They tell it how it is and that is always respected. Straight forwardness only reveals integrity in one's character. That is something Israel and Jacob has.

Nico Hernandez wins it again for his Fourth National Silver Gloves Championship
Nico Hernandez wins it again for his Fourth National Silver Gloves Championship
I spoke to Lewis Hernandez and he gave me his commentary on the fight. What a wonderful moment for their family. If the Lord wills, I would like to cover every boxing event and tournament for a living. lol I'm going to post the YouTube video of the fight to the linked article once it's up. DC Amateurboxing will upload it on their YouTube channel. They have it together when it comes to showing support for their boxers.

NICO HERNANDEZ won his 4th straight National Silver Gloves by decision!!!
According to coach Lewis Hernandez:
Round 1: Jordan White took it by taking their game plan of counter punching with straights and uppercuts.
Round 2: Nico Hernandez took it. They changed their game plan to having Nico being the aggressor, slipping punches and throwing 4-punch combos. Effectively landed left hooks.
Round 3: Nico Hernandez took it by continuing with the game plan and Jordan White's corner couldn't answer it.
Nico won it by decision in a close fight! Congratulations Nico to your 4th consecutive National Silver Gloves title!!!

Nico Hernandez: 4th straight to the National Silver Gloves finals
Nico will fight Jordan White of Waldorf, Maryland tonight! This will be a tough fight for both of them. I'm confident that Nico will pull it off. Spoke to Lewis earlier today and they have a game plan after viewing Jordan's fights and video. He said that there are a lot of supporters there for the DC boxers. A lot of them were scouting out Nico.
Next year, we need to make our presence there for Nico!

Profile: Three time National Silver Gloves Champion, Nico 'Babyface' Hernandez
Be on the lookout for this young man, Nico Hernandez! He has the potential to be an Olympian. Honestly, I haven't been able to see him box live but I became a big fan of his when I saw the You Tube video of his 3rd National Silver Gloves win last year. His composure and balance is exceptional. His opponent, Hector Tanajara of San Antonio, was rushing him and tried to muscle Nico but he was able to smoothly use his angles to get out of the way. I expect to see this from a 17 year old or older but I haven't seen this from a 14 year old like Nico.
Great job with the training coach Lewis! I look forward to see the success coming from the other two boxers I wrote about; Manuel and Marciano Hernandez.
Grace and peace.
