Kansas-Oklahoma Regional Golden Gloves Finals Results and Awards Part 3 of 3

GOT IT DONE!!!!!!! Thank you all for being patient with me on this. This was a huge undertaking for me to do by myself as I had to upload the many videos onto YouTube with difficulty from my computer. I left it uploading all night only to find out it only uploaded 6 videos because my computer shut down for some odd reason!

I had to make sure the videos were uploaded so that I would be able to link the videos in my articles. I also went out on a business trip to OKC so I didn't get much time to just sit down and work on this.

Here's what I've learned and what I will do for now on. First, write the results and just publish it just so that everybody knows what happened. Then publish following articles to go over each bout along with the links to the videos later.

Believe it or not, I'm still not finished with the KS-OK Golden Gloves coverage.

I'm still awaiting for some photos from the photographers we had on the first night. Once I get them all together, I'll publish a photo slide show article on Examiner.com. Then I'm going to write another article on the event talking about the award ceremony, the past Golden Gloves winners who were present, and the wonderful speech Olian Alexander gave. That will also be on examiner.com.

Then I'm going to do some profiles on some of the boxers who won the tournament or is on the team: Ralph Gramajo, Steven Garcia, Jose Arreola, Lamontee Hunt, Bo Gibbs Jr., and Eddie Chavez. I'll do short profiles on the others specifically about the nationals that I have already covered before like Noel, Tony, and Jeff.

I'm also going to have to prepare myself for the KC Golden Gloves.

For those out there... let me know if you know anybody who has an interest in multi-media! I'm looking for someone who knows how to use the social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, etc.; someone who can talk in front of a video camera, a photographer (never could have enough), and anyone who loves boxing and would like to know more about what I do. I can use all the help I can get! lol

Take care and thank you for your support!

Road to Kansas/Oklahoma Regional Golden Gloves: Bad Dog Boxing Club of Wichita, Kansas

I did a long interview with Olian and I'm not going to publish the article until after the gloves. Olian is a very interesting person and he is a pure athlete. I'll write about his life in sports and his experiences in boxing. I also did a phone interview with Steve Morse. I have worked out at his gym personally for a couple of months when I wanted to get back into boxing at the end of last year. However, full time job in Hutch.. my family... just didn't allow me to commit myself to the sport as a boxer. I miss it a lot so that's a reason why I'm doing this.

I've spoken briefly to Noel after the St. Paddy's beatdown event and did a phone interview with him. Nice guy and I'm excited to see him in the Gloves!

750 fans watched the March Thunder VI boxing event in Kansas City, Kansas Part 1 of 2

This event was very exciting. I hope we can get some Wichita boxers up there next year! Christina Enriquez coordinated the event and she is very kind and hospitable. It was a pleasure to meet a lot of the members of the boxing community in the KC area and got to meet some of them in person. Now I have a face to the email address.

Profile: Immanuel 'Manny' Thompson of Wichita, Kansas

Manny exemplifies the secret to being a great boxer. Loyal, trainable, committed and humble. I've known Manny and his family for about 4-5 years now. His mother raised him and his two other brothers by herself with the help of the Saints. They're great young men. Manny can come across anything but a very gentle and kind guy in his 6'2" frame. lol Many great things can be expected from him.
